This kind of music has its roots in England. In the late 70´s English
teenagers wanted to show their protest against modern society, because
they thought that they were in a prison. Music groups were founded and
they played music with protest texts and protest sounds. Their mainly used
instruments were electric guitar and drums. The "Sex Pistols" were one
of the most popular punk groups all over the world. But punks didn`t only
protested with their music. Leather jackets, ear rings, strange hair colours
and cuts, jeans with holes shocked society, too. Punks wanted to be completely
independent and they looked for for anarchy.
