Crack is a drug that is based on cocain, but it is much more addictive
than cocain. Crack in the form of chips, chunks or "rocks", is usually
vaporized in a pipe or smoked with plant materials in a cigarette or a
"joint". It first attracted attention in the late 1980s. Cocain itself
is the most potent stimulant of natural origin. It is extracted from the
leaves of the coca plant, which has been grown in the Highlands of South
America since prehistoric times.
