Dwight D. Eisenhower

Eisenhower was born on October 14,1980, in Denison, Texas. On June
1942 he became supreme commander of the American forces in Europe during
World War II. Later he became supreme commander of the allied forces in
Western Europe in the war against the Germans. On May 7, 1945 he accepted
the documents of the capitulation of the Germans. On Nov. 1945 he became
supreme commander of the occupation troops, then chief of general staff
in Washington. From 1948 to 1952 he was president of Columbia-University
in New York. From 1950-52 he was supreme commander of NATO. From
1953 to 61 Eisenhower was President of the United States of America. Dwight
D. Eisenhower died on March 29, 1969 in Washington at the age of 78.
